PDFs: Some browsers may download if you click the link. Others may preview in a new window. Once file is visible in its own window, you may "save as" using your menu to save it to your HD. 

DOCs: Download should initiate upon click.

TXT: link takes you to web pages with text you may copy into other documents. 

Images: Images will open for preview in their own window. After which you may "copy image" or right-click and "save as" to download file in its original state.
