From Alvin Zamudio, founder of American Sandbox and author of the Dictionary of Children's Mispronounced English:
(reprinted from the original website from 2009)
While reading all these great mispronounced words submitted by parents and writing their definitions, it occurred to me how fortunate these children were when so many children in our world have no parents to hear their mispronounced words and laugh with them in love. So for that reason (among many others) I am committing to give at least 10% of all profits from all sales of the first edition of the Dictionary to support the work of caring for orphans and helping them to find adoption. My heart breaks for these poor little ones. So maybe this crazy little idea that makes us laugh can also end up as just one more thing to help make life better for them, too.
Blessings,
Alvin Zamudio
